There are no definitive industry statistics available against which to benchmark the performance of a proposal development team. The lack of benchmarking statistics is essentially due to competitive confidentiality.

Basic Quotation or Proposal Statistics

Submissions to win statistics relating to basic client proposals or requests for quotation are meaningless.

Some suppliers classify marketing material as proposals and others do the same for quotations. When you factor in that many clients seeking basic proposals and quotations are not necessarily serious about purchasing, it becomes clear as to why statistics could be grossly misleading in this context.
